In the DOS version if you select AdLib/Sound Blaster as your music device, you get a short & sweet menu music loop, the same tune as in the Genesis or SNES version.
But if you pick MT-32 you get the longer variation, similar to Amiga and CD versions.

Don't know about the original Apple II version, but the PC version had copy protection sort of built in. Because it isn't a DOS game, but rather a booter, it would be impossible to copy for a regular user since its floppy sectors don't conform to MS-DOS

Yeah, not really. Build supported these resolutions. Duke 3D (which is what Extreme Paintbrawl based off) supported less resolutions. You could manually edit in 1024x768 and it would work, but not, for example, 360x240.
